Carrie Schlemmer started studying American Sign Language while completing a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Bowling Green State University. In 2001, she also completed a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Miami University. As a speech-language pathologist, Carrie's current caseload is made up of preschool students and Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Carrie remarks "As a speech language pathologist, I have developed a love for sign language. I also have a very strong background in child development. My true passion is working with children to develop language and speech skills. I believe sign language is a great avenue for many children to learn language."
