Wendy Howell took her first signing course in 1986 and has
been "hooked on signing" ever since. She holds a Sign Language
Communicator Diploma from Sheridan College, a Bachelor of Arts
degree from University of Waterloo, and a Certificate of Study
in Social Work from Renison College. Wendy has also
currently been teaching American Sign Language through the
Bluewater District Board of Education.

Wendy is a signing mom and a firm believer in the principles
of "Signing With Your Baby". She has seen first hand the joys
and amazing results of signing with her own child. Wendy says,
"My favourite infant sign story comes from my own experience.
I was trying to feed my daughter in her high chair, and she
wouldn't eat anything I gave her. Exasperated, I asked her,
"Well, what DO you want?!?" She got a big smile on her face
and signed "cheese". Needless to say, she was rewarded with a
piece of cheese, and then she went on to contentedly eat her supper".
